Inspired by the incredible exhibition in the V&A Museum I decided to focus this months sketch session on the woman who puts the shoe in choix pastry - Marie Antoinette. This Austrian born shoe and cake lover was the 15th of 16 children and it wasn't long before her mother packed her bag along with with a gigantic wig and sent her off to tie the knot with the next in line to the French throne - Louis XVI. This month we travelled virtually to a hidden gem in Chelsea - a 4 acre patch of green that has been supplying the world with botanical knowledge for the last 400 years. We looked at a map and I pin pointed areas such as the rock pool that's decorated with clam shells which were brought back from Tahiti by Captain James Cook.
